Parents and educators bear a heavy responsibility and they need time to take care of themselves.
Nearly everyone these days is under an unusual amount of stress. There is so much going on in the world around us, it can be easy to get overwhelmed. At Labor Solutions, we appreciate and value the efforts and sacrifices that so many people are making to help keep our society and economy up and running with some degree of normalcy. We would especially like to acknowledge the amazing dedication of our educators and parents who are charged with maintaining a stable, healthy routine for our children. It’s not an easy job.
The Children Are Our Future
Our children neither asked for nor created the crises into which our world has been thrown, and it’s not fair to expect them to handle all these changes like adults. That’s why it’s so important that the adults in their lives remain calm and collected. However, even adults need to be able to take a break from everything once in a while.
They say you can’t pour from an empty cup, and that is especially true when it comes to taking care of children. It’s important that parents and educators remember to practice self-care in these trying times. Taking the time to vent, unwind, relax, or just deactivate for a while can help recharge those batteries to keep going.Â
Remember to turn off the television and avoid social media periodically in order to get a break from the onslaught of current events. Don’t feel bad for occasionally treating yourself to a nice bath, a pint of ice cream, or a bottle of wine. Do what you need to do to calm yourself and feel better. It really is the best thing you can do for the children sometimes.
