Rockin’ on the River seeks to raise awareness and understanding of autism, and we were there to help.

Autism awareness has grown in recent years. Still, widespread understanding of it has a long way to go. At Labor Solutions, Inc., we wanted to do our part to help raise awareness and understanding. That’s why we were excited to be part of Rockin’ on the River for Autism in early April.

What Is Autism?
Autism is developmental disability that constitutes a wide “spectrum” of disorders. The manifestations of autism can vary greatly from one person to the next. This can range from a person who is completely nonverbal and requires much assistance to someone who is very high functioning and might not even seem to be “on the spectrum.” Partly due to the wide range of presentations of autism, many people don’t understand about this common diagnosis. We hope that by working with events such as this, we can help raise awareness and understanding.

More Than Community Involvement
At Labor Solutions, Inc. we are passionate about community involvement. We’re fortunate in this area to have many opportunities to be out in the community, taking part in a wide variety of events. In fact, we often take part in these events. While those opportunities are great, and we are proud to be part of them, Rockin’ on the River is more than just another event. This is more than just an opportunity to be out in the community. It’s about more than connecting with people or promoting our business.

Why Do We Care?
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 59 children in America is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. With these numbers, it is likely that many, even most, of the companies we serve have a family within their ranks that is affected by this. In addition to the companies we serve, we also serve many  individual employees. And there’s a chance that some of those families are affected by this as well. By working to raise awareness and understanding of autism, we are working to serve these companies and employees far beyond simply getting people jobs, or getting work done. This helps us to serve them even in their lives outside of work.
